Founded on March 8, 1968 (Showa 43), “Hyogo Television Broadcasting” was established with the aim of contributing to the improvement of culture and welfare and the promotion of industry and economy in Hyogo Prefecture. On April 15 of the same year, the company name was changed to “Sun Television Co., Ltd.” and broadcasting commenced on May 1, 1969 (Showa 44). As the business developed, on March 1, 1981 (Showa 56), coinciding with the opening of the “Kobe Port Island Exposition,” the company moved its headquarters to Port Island, a futuristic city on the sea, to become a new core of the regional information industry. In December 2004 (Heisei 16), it began terrestrial digital broadcasting, and in October 2006 (Heisei 18), it began one-segment broadcasting. On July 24, 2011 (Heisei 23), analog broadcasting ended, and it became fully digital broadcasting. On May 1, 2014 (Heisei 26), it celebrated its 45th anniversary. On May 1, 2019 (Reiwa 1), it celebrated its 50th anniversary. We moved to our new office building on June 14, 2021 (Reiwa 3).
