The most concentrated media sector

According to the Ministry of Information, Cambodia counts 18 TV stations. This include one State-owned TV which viewership is lower than 1%. But the TV sector is the most concentrated as the top 4 owners are gathering 78% of the viewership. Moreover, 7 of 9 relevant TV channels belong to owners, who are politically affiliated to the ruling party. (on the government payroll or appointed as advisors). This is 8 out of 10 when adding the new player PNN to the lanscape. As such, it can be assumed that TV ownership concentration plays a significant role on opinion shapin.(1)
